Sounds like the guy had a disgruntled customer that kept calling a tip line.

Simple fix to not complying to the parameters of his taxidermy licence.....that he knew when he applied for them.....deny his renewal.

Good read. I know someone who just built a house and a lady from the tax assessors office showed up and started poking around. She was asked to leave and refused. The homeowner was adamant but received threats that the sheriff would be called. Instead, the landowner threatened to call the sheriff. She reluctantly left.

From the article.

Quote
During the March 13, 2016, inspection, ODNR Wildlife Officer Christopher Dodge, according to Bennett, made a startling assertion. “The officer was going through my things and I asked him what he was looking for and if I could help find it,” Bennett recalls. “He told me, ‘I’ll let you know when I find it.’ I answered back, ‘What is that supposed to mean?’ and the officer said, ‘Everybody does something illegal. I just have to find out what you've done."

“That’s the most chilling thing to hear from a government agent,” Bennett says. “Those words have the power to destroy your business and life.”

No license required in Ohio.

BTW, I'm not anti game warden nor am I anti cop.

I'm anti abuse of state power whether intentionally or incompetent.

You can plug in any state agent here.

We are a nation of laws with imperfect enforcement...that's why we have courts.

They need to take at least 3 old laws off the books for every new one they adopt.

Lately the courts are far from perfect.

Worse than crooked cops, imo. You know the cop is out to get a conviction by any means but you expect justice from the other.

Now we have the courts doing the railroading no cop required.

The problem is the courts are even more imperfect, certainly the District Attorney's are!!!

You may want to read it again. He didn’t do anything illegal or wrong, they did. Unfortunately, this happens all the time, but most people think game wardens aren’t limited by the constitution for some reason. Only a couple others have been willing to go to court, and they all end the same way. They’re cleared of all wrong doing, but only after spending tens of thousands of dollars. But in the process the game wardens are forced to stop illegal searches.
