You need to get "Company of Adventurers" by Peter C Newman.

The Last Gentlemen Adventurer; Coming of Age in the Arctic by Edward Beauclerk Maurice is an autobiography about his time working for the Hudson Bay Company and his interactions with the Inuit.

I found it very interesting.

There are some books written by early brigade leaders that you my like as well. Alexander Ross and Peter Ogden both wrote autobiographies of their experiences working out of the Grand Old Companie's Columbia division.

Check out Red Raider on the Trap Shed. I think he has sold books on the history of The Grand Old Company. Ask him.
