Favorite Brand Names - 03/02/24 04:51 PM
Growing up poor, we didn’t have the luxury of most brand name foods and products but there were always certain things we didn’t skimp on because of the unmatched quality! Im still pretty frugal but some items are still favored:
Campbells Tomato Soup
Ken’s Salad Dressing
Perdue chicken wings (they’re not huge and weird shaped)
Dawn dish soap
Niagara spray starch
What are your favorites that you won’t substitute??

When I was big on sweets Hostess was better than Lil Debbie as Debbie was a bit dry for my taste. Being a picky eater I don’t skimp of food it’s the last pleasure in life if you think about it.
It’s amazing the brands that have sold out to cheap labor but the products never became any cheaper ever just the products quality. It’s unbelievable the amount of products that China has copied, not a thing that’s safe today. I had to order US skunk needles because the China ones are junk, one chainsaw place was selling Stihl carbs for $19 China clones. That seemed like a product that would be a low priority but I guess not.

I love them but won't buy them anymore. They required all their employees to get the COVID shot or loose their job. I called them and let them know my family of 5 and extended family will no longer be buying anymore of their products due to them making said requirement.
Wife tried to get cheap dish soap. She now knows I lay dawn.

Must not be a lot on here that know "dawn soap" is a company that contributes to the AR groups.
The baby seal that may not be onthe product anymore was a starting
for that.
Sort of like contacting to fight the antics then voting for them.

Was a big Wolverine boot fan until they changed their products to cheap imported junk or overpriced with not much in between. Local farm supply store had crazy days every year and sold Wolverine line boots cheap I’d pick up a pair or 2 and squirrel them away until needed.
Was big on LaCrosse rubber boot until they went overseas and started producing expensive junk with cheap materials and paper thin liners the price never went down just up, up and up. That wet suit material is not barbwire friendly out here.

Rocky boots were made in Ohio and awesome, I had a pair of bear claws last me 8 years of very heavy usage. Bought a replacement and found out they went over seas and they were no where near as comfortable and
lasted 2 years. Won't buy again. Like muck boots. Levis because they guarantee them and they're the only jeans that fit me right and real comfortable but I know. Also love Sitka and Yeti products.
