Not sure which would be worse to skin, the giant otter or giant beaver. At least the giant otter tails would be easier to flesh because as we learned from Young Frankenstein, its easier to work on things that are bigger.

What size gripper would be needed for a 400 lb otter?

I saw some otters in the Amazon that were pretty big. Wikipedia says average weight for giant south american otters is 75 lbs.... the pelts looked like ironing boards but length of fur was abut 1/4"

Thats why we have the cities treaties on cats and otter. Stupid customs folks weren’t smart enough to tell the difference between “look alike” species!
