Operated his lure business about 15 miles of where I live. Lisbon NY. Shed still there but collapsing. Shame.

Since we’re on this subject…where does Tingley northland lure fit in? Years ago I think I tried to order some daily lure and had to order tingley lure. OL Butcher had good lures as well. His coon lure and coon bait were top notch stuff.

In your one photo is a story about Raymond Thompson. I have a 1946 copy on my desk right now.

I remember reading something about when he was an elderly man. a young guy tried to rob him in his store and EJ chased him away. EJ may did it with a knife but can’t remember the details.

When I was in my 20's (about 45 years ago), an older, retired gentleman neighbor used to stop often to visit.
He told me stories on several occasions about EJ Dailey because he took a week long instruction from him on fox trapping up in the Adirondacks.
One story included going to the train station one day with EJ to pick up some cargo he had shipped in from somewhere out west. It was coyotes.

I read a story in FFG magazine when I was around 11 years old. He was explaining the dirt hole in detail. Took my newfound knowledge and walked up to an old rock quarry, and made a DH. Caught a big dog red the first night, reset in the circle, and caught a coyote the second night. He was old then, around 1959 or 60, and I’m 77 now. It’s been a day or two!

The only ADK camp, I am aware of, was still standing a year ago. Less than 20 road miles from me. I was told that He still wanders there ! Ray Duntley's home is a few miles closer. Legends of Times. Which I will never Be..... Tut

Raymond Duntley's home was at North Hudson. O.L. Butcher's camp was on Blue Ridge.I used to visit Raymond who married O.L.Butcher's widow, Alice.
I remember seeing E.J. Dailey at the NYSTA convention at Piseco Lake and how long the ash from his cigarette would get with out falling off.

I saw a picture of his old store in it’s current condition a while back on the Pennsylvania Trappers Associion website. The building was run down. Too bad it couldn’t be fixed up and preserved as a small museum.
