I worked on a couple of different methane digesters(mostly dairy waste) -- neat idea -- all of them have failed to be operational within 5 years. Every one of them were trying to run a generator -- apparently methane is a little hard on motors. I do believe that if they burned it to run a steam gen they would have been much more successful. As always once the initial gov money ran out the "green energy" company would vanish leaving a disaster of buildings and equipment for the farmers to clean up.
The Belle Meade Mansion near Nashville Tn, built before the Civil War, piped methane from decomposing horse manure into the mansion to fuel gas lights.
Been looking at how to use methane on our little place, we have pigs and goats and chickens , so plenty of fuel. We have some solar panels powering our freezers and a water pump but would feel better with being less dependent on the power company
Trash is so mishandled like many solutions they fail, our local landfill is a few miles away in the past I paid for garbage pickup the guy retired and sold to the competition they tried to raise the fee after taking over. The fee went from $68 to $75 every 3-4 months so I canceled the service.
I have 2 burn barrels that I empty yearly and the bottle/can trash cans (2) a couple times a year. I often pay the minimum fee $14 to dump months and months of what’s remaining after burning what I can. I haul other household trash that the trash haulers would charge extra for or not take on the same loads saving me the extra fees that I would have occurred.
I hauled the mess from the fire last year they did not charge me since I often don’t being the minimum weight I’d guess I pay under $100 a year to haul my own trash. I did take a load of old tires in 25 that cost me around $85 last year so it’s worth while to haul my own trash.
No trash to energy but it sure reduced the space taken up in the landfill.

We have dozens of digesters in our area and some have been running for over 25 years. None have failed but yes the gas produced by the dairy waste is not really clean or scrubbed well if you will and it is hard on the generators. The Generators from Europe held up a lot better in the early years the the USA made generators. Dairy manure is a lower quality waste to create gas so many have lined up other firms with cooking oils etc. from the food and restaurant business which really increases the amount of gas and some improvement in the quality as well. The bigger operations are now not generating gas for electricity as the biggest hurdle for almost everyone with a digester was working with and negotiating with the utility companies. They wanted the "green energy" but were not willing to pay any premium at all for the most part. So now there are farms forming companies and they take huge amounts of manure, (some piping the liquid 4-5 miles) and they scrub it clean and then sell it right into the pipelines as high quality propane and don't work with the utiility companies at all. Transporting 97% liquid manure over longer distances is not a profitable venture. The good thing for smaller dairies is they can contract with the large companies if close by and deliver their manure and be part of the newer technology that way.

The plastic-energy facility’s likely work as shown in your clip. But have yet to see one(or hear of one) anywhere I’ve ever been. There’s absolutely a huge need for them around world
Co2 is invisible,,,,,,, plastic’s are very visible to some. Just not the majority of the population
