Thanks 330. He's still on the user list, hasn't been on Tman in 5+ years though.

He used to just hunt muskrats when them.
I remember he had problems with animal rights zealots turning his mink loose, or stealing them.
Might be why he goes after rats now.
The animal rights people realize the rats need controlled.

Interesting to watch a mink in action. Although relatively rare, one of worst things to show up at a chicken house is a mink or weasel. They are attracted by rats and mice, but then transition to the chickens.......and will kill a bunch of chickens, if not all of them. Good reason to keep rats and mice out of your chicken house.

And those are some big rats. Still think a tuned and waxed 110 ought to make a good rat trap. BMI 110 with bell shaped trigger comes to mind.

Mink are such cool animals! Years ago, my dad raised mink. We had a platinum that I used to take out of his pen and pet him while I held him.

They really are. I've always been fascinated by how efficiently and they kill.

I've been lucky enough to watch several hunting in the wild. It's really cool how they explore every nook and cranny along a stream bank.

What species of rat is that that burrows down in the ground and lives in colonies? They are huge!

Reminds me of our wood rats, but they are solitary and don't cause that much of an issue.

Minkener has some of the best rat killing videos on YouTube. I really like a few of the dogs he uses. I want to get another feist type dog in the next few years.

Not sure Norway maybe?
I know barn rats will dig burrows and remember as kids we would wage war on them at the neighbors.
There were hundreds of them, and we used whatever we had to get rid of them.
