Anyone at the Herkimer auction today who has already
sold their pelts who can provide some early data on how it went ?

Got a call from the Herkimer auction.
Beaver are red hot & are on fire. $50 tops so far.
Otter edging up to near $40.00 average.
Mink $4.00 to $6.00.
Rats good but no details, $5.00 tops so far.
Skunks $15,00 to $17.00 $23.00 tops
Coon poor. $8.00 tops
Fisher mid to high $30's
Bobcats all over the board depending on quality
Coyotes poor with tops of $18.00 (with legs/paws)
Red fox $10.00 to $12.00
Grey fox $12.00 to $13.00 (top @ $20.00 with legs/paws)
No info on Marten so far.

Just got home Bob, I seen some coyotes bring $35, $18 red and gray fox, $90 cats . All tops that I seen.
Gebo
Crowther
Rockwood
These were the three main buyers.

There were a lot of mid to upper 20s beaver, that $50 top is a bit misleading from what I saw. Castor was in the low to mid 20s per lb.

People running these shows are too busy right after the auction. They need an inside guy....like me, at the ITA sale! LOL

Wayne, we averaged $27 before commission, we had 1 small and 12 mediums , 46 total.

I hope I am wrong, but it looks to me like beaver has started to come down.
