chiappa 1911-22 - 01/31/24 02:00 AM

I am debating buying a chiappa 1911-22 pistol. I've been hearing mixed reviews online. does anyone have any experience with one?

I bought one some years back.I still have it,if I had to do it over I wouldn't have bought it.The plastic magazine probably has something to do with their occasional jams, and that seems to be common, that's one of the more common complaints.I used mine for trapping so it did what it was supposed to do,but I wouldn't buy another.I had no idea when I bought it the magazine was plastic,I handled the gun of course but didn't take the magazine out until after I bought it.I likened them to the Hi Point line, they shoot but don't expect perfection

I use a .22 more than any other gun by far. Because of that, I can justify a few dollars more for something I know will always go bang if I remembered to feed it.

Just my 2 cents.

I like mine fine. Over large grip, if you have smallish hands, forget it.

what is your want in a 22lr pistol?

accurate like squirrel head at 50 feet
optics ready
fun to shoot
10 round or more mags
cycle well with range of ammo
great for slopping around on the trap line
nice iron sights
cheap
threaded muzzle for suppressor
if you have others

list your top 3

Don’t have a Chiappa but do have a Mauser blue line solution 22 1911 and love it, was under 300 last year when I bought it and have put several hundred rounds through it, has been as reliable as any other 22 auto and while not a target pistol i have taken more then a few rabbits and squirrels with it as targets of opportunity

Not my photo but the same model I have, I would buy another without a qualm, in fact I plan to do just that for my sons birthday, maybe that way I will get to use mine a bit more since he likes mine so well and keeps borrowing it I figure it’s time he had his own
