Let it Rain

Let it Rain - 01/22/24 05:12 PM
most of my fishing holes are at least 48-72 inches low at this point. This heat from hades this summer and no rain has been a mother on these small private lakes and ponds that I fish including the beaver ponds.
They are calling for 5 inches of rain between now and Friday. I sure hope we get it.
I went fishing yesterday at about 10 in the morning til 1400 and caught 27 crappie and 22 largemouth bass. Probably should be fishing right now but I have enough fish for myself and my elderly parents.
Let er rip tater chip.

We barely got enough to wet the bottom of a puddle and like you we need a lot more. Since we didn't get it I hope you do.

Sheepdog I didn't want any rain this week while I'm off. I've got beaver and coyote jobs to do.

It was supposed to rain here Tuesday-Sunday. We had hunts scheduled Thursday and Friday but they just canceled. I was supposed to start setting a place yesterday but held off due to the forecasted rain. Now the forecast shows Thurs - Sunday. I’m sure now that the hunts are canceled we won’t get any measurable precipitation, lol!!

Have to cross a bar ditch to get to some cat sets I have made. About shin deep now but by the end of the week I'll be running land sets in chest waders. lol Do need the rain though.

… well boys… this stuff is reinforcing the theory I had that the rubber washers on the screws in my tin roof are no more good lol
4.77" since it started, and the future radar on TWC shows tons more coming soon.
Mr. Savell, that doesn't sound good.

South Central Texas is getting it good right now. No big toad strangling yet but a darn good soaking.
Total as of 11:30 AM today is 9.94". We have enough.
Three day total of 11.61". It's over for today, but a 90% chance again tomorrow.

You boys can have all our moisture for the next 3 months. We were in a drought here last summer but all our ponds are full now or soon will be. It's a muddy mess up here and will be the rest of winter unless it freezes.

We haven't had any rain or snow, just fog from the warm temps and the little snow we have.
Not complaining. It's been a real nice winter, but hard on the resorts that depend on the cold for ice fishing.
