Craftsman extraordinaire in regards to muzzleloaders, knives, etc

Sad to hear. He was an extraordinary craftsman. I would guess that he has been an inspiration for many in the muzzleloading community.

He has passed on a lot of his knowledge through workshops at his place in Kentucky. Knife building, and building muzzleloaders. Very down to earth individual who lived simply.

I have a number of friends that either own HH rifles or have attended his knife making seminars. He was a well known figure in the colonial reenactment community.
The Foxfire book #5 has some good stuff about HH....Morgantown/Woodbury, KY boy & one of the few who could still cut a rifle barrel by hand...He was a Marine lcd.
