German Farmers Had Enough - 01/11/24 01:47 AM

They are blocking the major highways in the whole country of Germany, and not happy. The biggest protest in Germany in many years and the media is ignoring it of course.
2024 is going to be a wild year across the globe.

German farmers could really tie things up for them because of how their country is laid out.

Not at all like us with big farms all in the middle in lightly populated areas.

Germany is village/town, a patch of woods, farmland, patch of woods, village/town and so on right up to the big cities. Everything laid out neatly and just so. Wouldn't take much at all to upset that apple cart and lock up the country side.

From the videos I've seen, this is a Truly Peaceful Protest, maybe the only one I've seen in years. The eco-crazy, liberal German government taxes the crap out of farmers, who use diesel to grow the food Germans need to live. They then were giving the money, that they steal in environmental.taxes, back as a subsidy. The eco-leftists have finally decided now is the time to put German farmers out of business by making operational costs prohibitively high.

Foolish thinking. Germany, like much of Central Europe, is only able to feed itself with intensive management of land use. They got too many people on too small of a space to do otherwise. That was just one of the reasons the world wars were unwinnable for them.

It takes a lot to tick the German farmers off enough to take to the streets. They are hard headed enough to just quit selling their produce if pushed too far. And they will pull together and be a hard nut to crack for the government.

That was my take as well from meeting a few. Takes quite a bit to get a German to step out line of what's expected of them. But when they set their mind to it they get it done one way or the other. Good folks to have on your side not so much the other way around.

I grew up on a farm in Germany. But our may income was from our fishing trawlers. If push came to shove, my grandfather would have had no problem to take what wee needed of the fields ( we always had the basement full of stuff we had canned that would have fed us for more than a year ) and then just sprayed the rest down so no one would be able to take it over. My grandmother ran the place during the war with my mother being 4 years old when the war ended and my grandfather did not come back till 4 years after the war was over. If the younger generation of farmers have an ounce of the pound of the older ones. This could get interesting for the higher ups real quick.

Met a few survivors of the wehrmacht and luftwaffe. Once I set aside historical preconceptions I realized those guys were true survivors of things no one should ever have to experience.

The local auto mechanic in Graf had been a luftwaffe mechanic. Captured late in the war in France after being handed a rifle and put into the front line. Walked home after release to a country that had been leveled. Made a living as a auto mechanic but his specialty was machining parts out of whole stock. He was popular with the local RC clubs because he could machine propellers, both air and marine, out of bar stock.

It seems to be building support and political power. They are demanding the current government resign and hold snap elections. The WEF admits a problem with trust in the new world order .

Sad when Germany appears more American than America.
