So it's a nice pot of Guinness Beef Stew...simmering for anothah 2 hours

What's on your stove ?

Do you prefer stove over slow cooker or crock pot?......Chilli tonight.

For me....a crock pot ...doesn’t hold a candle to a cast iron Dutch oven on the stove...or oven.

Can you expand on why you like the cast iron. Always lookin to learn something.

For me....the crock pot dries out meats.

Where the cast iron Dutch oven does not.

The crock pot is great for keeping things warm .

The one pot ..cast iron Dutch ...can build stews/ soups ( Browning meats ) and sauté veggies ) ...and Bake Bread in. Where a crock cannot do those things.

Enameled Cast Iron Dutch oven ,should be in every house...just like a model 94 Winchester 30-30

I prefer the stove top over the slow cooker/crook pot, unless I'm travelling all day. Then it's nice to come home to a warm meal.

Cabbage soup here.

I make my stews the same as Nessie. one pot dutch oven on the stove top for browning and adding ingredients then into a low oven, around 225. You can leave it all day and it just simmers.
I hate a crockpot.

Wife was cooking a pot of cheeseburger soup when I left home to go to farm and cut wood this morning.

Nothing fancy on the stove.

I pulled out a of chunk smoked venison back strap and a half of a smoked goose breast. Just going to sit back and slice some off, eat some chunks of cheese with some ritz crackers on the side for some filler food.

Oatmeal as the flu struck and as of right now I’ve been able to keep it down.

Just got back from my shop...had to plow 10 inches of Snow....and today was the day...I blew a hydraulic line on my plow...had to drag my floor jack 300 feet to the truck. Thankfully I had my ice fishing sled in the truck....so I put the floor jack in the sled...for easy traveling. Jacked up the plow and chained it up...so I could drive it home...fun fun fun.

At least I have a Hot Bowl of Beef Stew for Dinnah

Crock pot tonight here. Came home from a muzzleloader shoot to a hot pot of gizzard stew.

Game hen with potato’s/carrots and corn bread. Jiffy mix the best!

The Mrs made a big pot of gumbo.

Venison back straps au gratin potato's some broccoli cheese noodles and some corn bread muffins.it was excellent!

Will be concocting another shepherd's pie tomorrow. Good way for us to use the ground mutton and the garden spuds and veggies.
