2023 Jeep Cherokee issues? Any mechanic know? - 12/15/23 09:03 PM

Have a 2023 Jeep Cherokee and we have this issue happen 5 times now when starting the vehicle and putting it in drive.
You hear a big clunk like the tranny just dropped out.
The dash shows 5 lights on ATTACHED SEE PIC for what ones are on.
The dealer said we don’t drive it enough and some of the electrical components are draining and unti they are charged it would do that.
Well we have been driving it daily and it happened again today and now had it towed to the dealer.
Anyone know of this same thing happening to any other 2023 Jeep Cherokees?
Please lmk

2 times I’ve had weird stuff happen to our 2016 Cherokee and both times was the battery but yours being a 2023 I wouldn’t think that would be the problem but easy enough to check your battery so worth a try

What does your manual say about the lights?

With the engine light on and the other lights on needs serviced. Been there and they said no code issues because the light went off.
Well today I sent them pics of the issue because I want them to see the dash lights.
So it was towed to them.

I think he meant the dash lights.
Anyway, I hope you get the issue resolved soon and easily!

If you bought it new and they can not fix it, I would let corporation know about it, and they will get me a new one or I would be seeing a lawyer.

Was bought NEW. The Dealer President called me today and it has to go through the steps they are told to do(its like a process to eliminate one probable issue at a time, was told if this first thing doesnt fix it then the next step is a new transmission) Told them did not buy i new vehicle to have issues...if i wanted issues i would have bought used.
So frustrating!

Did you try and read the codes yourself?

No, looked at the manual and it said to contact the dealer which we did again with those codes. So we did.

Read engine codes is about all you can do on Dodge/Chrysler simce 2018. Cant even clear them if I remember correctly. Google Chrysler secure gateway module. To be able to clear codes or read data you have to have a scanner that is approved and a paid subscription to a site called Auto Auth and be connected to the internet to do abything past seeing engine trouble codes. Or you have to buy a bypass connector to plug in place of the Secure gateway module and then plug your scanner in to a connector on the bypass harness.

New or used doesn't mean their won't be issues. People need to get over that. I'd buy an older car than a new one today for the very reason that your dealing with. A person can't even work on their own car today.

I’ve never seen a vehicle brand with more problems than Chrysler, I don’t know how they’re still in business honestly. I once saw a durango on its third transmission before 100k miles. I once saw a dodge ram that the transmission started slipping 7 miles out of the dealership, it had like 80 miles on it total. Chrysler has had a few good vehicles like the mid 90s cherokees but most were garbage IMO. Sorry your dealing with this mess, I’d get it fixed and sell it and go buy a rav 4.

Sell vehicle and buy Toyota, that’s the remedy .

UPDATE; they are replacing the valve body 1st...if not the problem then they are replacing the transmission.

We then talked to the dealerships owner about the issues and we are getting a new replacement 2023 Cherokee with all the same options.

Satisfied with the decision .

Sounds like a good dealer. All brands have problems these days. The difference is how the dealer takes care of the problem imo.
