The things you notice after your done

The things you notice after your done - 09/03/23 01:54 AM

Brother helped me put down laminate flooring in my daughters room. It went usually smooth for one of our projects. We were standing around talking after we finished and he goes I dont like that. I said you dont like what? And then he pointed it out. Not an issue that has to be fixed, and my daughter said she didnt care so we left it. Anybody see it?

My guess is the joints that line up on courses 3 and 5.

Looks good to me. I’m not a floor installer but also not picky so it’d really have to stand out to catch my eye lol.

Yep not sure how we lined them up perfect as we were being diligent to make sure they didnt. But we apparently slacked off as we got closer to the end of the room. Wouldnt be hard to pop up 3 rows and fix it but we decided it was fine and my daughter agreed. So now on to trim work.

The most amazing part is we only screwed up one piece when cutting.

I never would have noticed it. Just put a rug over it and call it good. grin

Pretty much what we decided. By the time we put a bed and dresser in there it will blend right in.

Yeah we decided pretty quick to just let it be. We have an ability that stuff ljke that stands out to us. Its inherited from our mom. My dad could hang a hundred feet of trim and have one little flaw and she would find it with in seconds of walking in. Most likely her dresser will be on that wall and cover it up.

The floor or wall color. Wall color isnt something I would pick, but I wasnt arguing with my teenage daughter. She picked it and I decided it wasnt a hill worth dying on. LoL

Yep first thing I noticed was the joints.

Second was exact patterned pieces right next to each other.

...but most people won't notice

Lol that too. I can finish drywall but not as good as my OCD wants it to be, so I just had to leave that spot and walk away. Plus trim will cover up some of it.

I wouldn't be concerned about the joints in rows 3 & 5. That flooring isn't structural anyway.
What would bother me more is that joint in front of that door..............unless that's a closet.

Either way it will be fine !

My ocd didnt like it either but I had to just walk away and let it be. If the door is open it will be covered up, plus the bed is going on that wall. And it helps that room blend with the rest of the house that a person with less ability than I have worked on.

Unless your OCD, your fine. It looks great. Get the moulding and furniture in. And then, see if it is noticeable.

If you want more practice, i have a home for you. MINE.
