Wonder how many of those "9000 members" are deceased life members?

2498 is a HUGE turn out! Probably more votes than actual living members, lol. Guess everyone's kids voted like they do in ms. to decide who runs the trapping association.

Number of voters seems low considering the amount of folks that I spoke with who normally don't vote, but said they had voted this time hoping for change. crazy

I doubt they do. I wanted Roy to win but I knew John would. Just the way the NTA works.

Vote counting is usually pretty up and up, never worried about that. One candidate isn't allowed to say anything for fear of a lawsuit the other candidate has whole page ad's everywhere and a member's magazine FULL of articles about how great and wonderful he is so shouldn't be a mystery why the election went the route it went.

Now if that don't sound like a sore loser....

I just want to say congrats to John on the win as well as to Roy for running. It is clear to me that both had the best interest of trappers at heart. Nice job gentlemen.

nice to see a great turnout of 4,000 with our current fur market concerns and the political issues and concerns expressed by several on many issues or concerns. Supporting the NTA or any organization can come in many ways and take many forms and with 8-10k of members there are a multitude of options of how members can support the association, the heritage and trapping. Good to see volunteers step up to plan, organize and run a large scale event even if there are serious disagreements on policy and or issues. The rank and file can and do run events and support and make sure events go well. It is the task and assignment of our leadership to making sure thoughs efforts are not provided in vain.

Wasn't there also a glitch in the first batch of ballots? Wrong zip or something. So a color change was made...

When a canidate hasn't made a positive change of the trapping Regs in their own State and have helped make their State the laughing stock of the nation(IMO) with it's CR regs in 2005, why would you expect them to qualitfy as President of the NTA??? Lots of trappers have short memories and are glad-handers but some aren't!

Well this candidate won't be running again, he put on this event with his volunteers and since it's sunday everyone is off heading back home so him and his crew are doing clean up, the lonliest job of hosting a convention and for a thank you he's just been told he's had ethic's charge's filed against him so i guess like the SE Regional Director that wouldn't go along to get along he'll be tossed out of the NTA as well in the coming weeks!

Talk about sore winners!

The one thing I’ve ever hear repetitively positive about this guy is that he and his crew run great conventions, maybe the best conventions for all I know because i never attend conventions but there’s more to being a State Director let along the President of then NTA! I’ve trapped in Michigan for going on 69 years so I feel I’m qualified to express my opinion of what he’s done or not done concerning trapping regulations in MY frigin State. He was part of the clic of water trappers that went unprepared to Lansing to argue for our CR Regs in 2005 and I was told by the clic to stay home, they didn’t need me, they had it covered, an experience snareman no less!!!! That’s all old news, so what has he and the clic done/accomplished in Michigan that positively impacts trappers since the 2005 debacle??? Has anything changed with our usless CR Regs in the past 18 frigin years???
