Yes they are nice ones. Years ago myself and two of my brothers would catch a batch of gills, with new baby red spuds, coleslaw and fresh peas!! Those were some really good meals.
I have caught scads of shellcrackers over a pound, some up to 2 1/2 pounds, but I have never caught a bluegill over a pound. It is on my bucket list. I need to fish more. They don't hardly ever swim by my couch.
A little advertising for the southeast> Alabama and florida have produced some record size bream. I have fished Merrits Mill Pond many years ago, but never caught any record sized fish. I hear that it has changed a lot since then.
Those are jumbos very nice! I go to a remote spot and have fun catching them on fly rod. I hardly ever use a spin cast any more everything is fly rod fishing.
I kept some the other day for a nice lunch. Remove head and gut them than on the grill for a very short time.
