American Bresse Chickens - 06/29/23 06:07 PM
Any one else raise this breed of chickens? I have a lot of them and they are good tasting chickens. Just wondering if anyone else likes them.

I use water tanks as a brooder and they work fine.

they lay eggs and the eggs can be incubated and thus they are a self sustaining breed.

As much as American Bresse Chickens sell for, I definitely would not be eating any hens, before their laying years were over, if I had any.
I experimented with Indian Asils and Dark Cornish crosses for a few years, but decided it wasn't worth my time to try to increase egg productivity and stabilize them.

If that works out and they are actually edible, hatch chicks, save the pullets for layers or to sell and eat the cockerels?

I do save the pullets for egg layers and breeding for more chicks I save a couple roosters for breeding
