Air quality in Chicago

Is supposedly much worse from Canada's forest fires.
Would smoke make it any worse than normal?

Yes, it would be worse. I am in Michigan and here I cannot even see
the road a half mile away from me. You can even smell the smoke.

It is recommended that you wear a mask in a lot of areas if you are outside.
Visibility is a little over 1/4 mile.

It was bad in Northern Nebraska this spring but I guess the wind carried it futhu east. Are these all forest fires or grassland also?

It's also bad here In Oregon WI. You can smell It and there Is a haze In the air.
I have a sore throat and a headache,It's not good.

I'd b more worried about all the lead in the air in Chicago

Evacuate.
The govt is evacuating old infirm people that cant handle the smoke from here to the south.
Paying hotels meals etc.
Im too busy for a free holiday.

Forest fires or grass?

Smoke is here and I’m 275 miles south of Chicago

Two hours north of Chicago and the smoke is thick. Eyes sting a little and you can smell it pretty strong.

Obviously here too...can't smell the smoke but it has been hazy all month.

normally it just smells like fried chicken when the wind is out of the north , now it smells like some one burnt the fried chicken

I thought someone in the industrial park I work in was having a cookout. Then I saw the haze. Now it really stinks.

I thought it was from fireworks keep me up an not sleep well last nite this morning that they had burnt something up or someone burn something . After work. Smoke. Looks terrible outside. Smells bad. Headache all afternoon

Air is clear as a bell and sleeping like a baby. Rain every day.

The air quality is poor here too from Canada's inability to manage their forests. We need our reparations. I think we should demand the king of Canada give us Boco and other well trained Canadians to put up our fur, apologize for justin bieber and install maple syrup, free on tap, at central locations.

Denver was the worse I can remember the smell hung in the air and walking into the hotel the carpet had a sick sulfur odor.

Are you sure the smoke is not from wood fired pizza ovens making Chicago deep dish pizzas ?

well they are of course taking the heat for the climate change

while in other news climate change extremists are being blamed for some of the Canadian wild fires
