Born on this day in 1929 in Delphi Indiana. Did anyone else watch wrestling growing up?

Anyone remember Rufus R. Jones? He wrestled in the same era.
He died while deer hunting in my county. Helped pack him out of the woods.

Watched it all the time back then. Went to the St. Paul Civic Center quite a bit for the matches.

I remember him. I saw him at North Side Gym in Elkhart, IN back in the early 1960's.

Watched Big Time Wrestling out of Detroit.Bobo Brazil, the Sheik,Mark Lewin,Igor, the Brute,Haystacks Calhoun to name a few I remember. We lived in Flint and when they came to town we went to the shows.I remember seeing the Poffos,Randy in particular, who later became the Macho Man.He wasn't near as bulked up in the mid '70's as he was in the mid '80's,the wonder of steroids,I guess.

I remember dad walking through the room when I was watching Hogan one time. He laughed and said he wouldn’t stand a chance against the Bruiser. He was probably right. Lol

Enjoyed the wrestling of the 60's 70's and NWA 80's for sure. AWA, NWA, World Class, they were great.

He used to tag team up with The Crusher who said they were cousins. Two top colorful wrestlers during their time. A lot better than the wrestling you see today.
At one time, the Crusher was said to be able to bench press 600 pounds. He died in 2005.
