Decent bluegill - 05/18/23 05:54 PM

Caught him on grubs… I found a batch of grubs yesterday getting them garden planted. Grubs have always been a great bait… eye appeal I think. Anyway, bucket lid for comparison [Linked Image]

If I only had bear/bluegill for meat the rest of my life I'd be a happy camper.
That's a beauty!

really nice gill foxkidd!!!!! You get it at shelbyville?

A buddy of mine has been after them for a cpl weeks and has been catching some real nice ones too. He has one 12 incher this year, with a few more over 10.

I have been way to busy to even think of going.

Judging from the yellow margins of the fins and tail, looks to be a hybrid. Thats big for even a hybrid.

Re: Decent bluegill - 05/20/23 02:40 AM

When you say grubs ..... do you mean the big fat white ones you find when turning dirt over this time of year? I have more than I would like to admit in someplaces. I mentioned it to a neighbor with a farm pond and he said he wasnt sure they would be good for bait. I thought they might be worth a try, but I havent given it a go yet.
