Most likely from Canada, Atlantic Ocean. They recently lost most of their market with Japan because Russians are dumping crab onto that market for cheap. That’s a good price and should be a good product.

7 million lbs of bairdi just came out of Kodiak and the peninsula waters in the past 2 weeks. Maybe that’s what you’re seeing Ken. High price considering dock price of $3.75 and less

Good price -average here has been $17 a lb which I will not pay. I was in a western store this fall and they had snow crab for $3 lb. Because I was on the road and had a lot of Dungeness on board no room to carry much but I did get 5 lbs. Not sure why other than they may have made a pricing error but it was fresh tasting when I ate it. Cheapest I ever found. I bought some 4 to 5 oz. cold water lobster tails today for $5 each that's about as cheap as you can get here. Got to love those valentine day specials.
