Never tried that yet just never got around to it, I like lobster and shrimp but not a fish person. I’ll have to give it a go someday.

I just hope it's not two year old stock they're trying to clear out.

If it was off the ice too long it would make a great bait. smile You will be able to tell by the odor.

It has been a while since I have had any. Just a bit too hard to work at to get to the good part. Not a great fan but I hope you score big.

X 2

Delicious, but I'd likely starve if that's all I had to eat. I think I'd burn more calories getting at the good stuff than I'd take in. LOL

That's an unreal price for crab! Buy as much as you can carry!

Most likely from Canada, Atlantic Ocean. They recently lost most of their market with Japan because Russians are dumping crab onto that market for cheap. That’s a good price and should be a good product.

Who would have thought any kind of crab would ever be cheaper than eggs?

First time with the pics. You really do get tired of it after a while. I usually ended up giving it out to friends who appreciated it more than me.

7 million lbs of bairdi just came out of Kodiak and the peninsula waters
in the past 2 weeks. Maybe that’s what you’re seeing Ken. High price considering dock price of $3.75 and less

I can make some awesome stir fry with those.

Good on you, Mr Paul.

No foods should ever be so insanely high-priced , as they've been for the past two years.

Re: I know what's in my near future dining - 02/09/23 10:02 PM

Good price -average here has been $17 a lb which I will not pay. I was in a western store this fall and they had snow crab for $3 lb. Because I was on the road and had a lot of Dungeness on board no room to carry much but I did get 5 lbs. Not sure why other than they may have made a pricing error but it was fresh tasting when I ate it. Cheapest I ever found. I bought some 4 to 5 oz. cold water lobster tails today for $5 each that's about as cheap as you can get here. Got to love those valentine day specials. grin

Well, beaver makes awfully good crab bait. I might throw a few crab pots in the boat when I head to the coast tomorrow.
