Once the cubs are born it gets really neat. They growling and grumbling.

Pretty cool……looked like about 15 seconds or so between each big breath.

It probably is. It's in the pocono's. A lot of those people up there are bunny-huggers. So it isn't too much of a problem for them.

We had one den under my FIL's camp for a few years. The only way we even found out it was there was it went to bed right under where the wood burner was, and after the second night at deer camp we heard it moving around trying to get away from it.

It was neat to lie there at night and listen to it snore.

Re: PGC Bear Den Cam - 01/25/23 08:55 PM

In 2019 & 2021, I watched a camera the PGC had for a hibernating bear. They were different sows, but were under the deck of the same cabin in Monroe County. I just received an email from HDonTap who works in conjunction with the PGC, stating that this is a Pike County sow and sounds have been heard, indicating that there is at least one cub. It is awesome to watch. In 2021, the sow had 3 cubs. She did good with them, but there was one that was very ornery. I encourage everyone to watch this up until they leave in the spring. It is very interesting.

She's awake right now. Got an itchy nose.

She's definitely got a cub in there. You can here it chattering and whining.

About like watching grass grow or paint dry! Those bear cubs are sure cute little fellers though!

One thing I'd never thought about before watching the video below the webcam, they feed the cubs milk for three months without ever drinking water. Amazing

I showed this to my wife, and I think I have created a monster. She can't get enough of the little cub's noises.

Same with my wife. She was watching last night when the sow picked up the cub and moved it closer. She told me but by the time I got to look the sow was sleeping again.

I also sent the link to my 13-year-old granddaughter, she and I like to watch the PGC's Elk Cam and she told me she checks in on the bears regularly.

You can see the cubs better now.
