Best snake trap out there - 08/28/22 04:01 AM

I swear best snake trap of all the is old bird netting crazy I don't even remember ever buying any of the stuff but I swear every few months there snake in the yard wrapped up in some. O well. Reckon I found this little yellow belly pretty early in her predicament. Doctored her up and sent her on her way. Too valuable as a rat killer to me to just go killing very nope rope I see. Gotta say it's amazing how much of an attitude change you can see before during and after the operation lol !

Nice. Yeah I agree, I dont kill any snakes around anymore. The last venomous one was a beautiful coral snake that I regret killing, felt terrible afterwards. Way too much benefit IMO.

I USE A LONG WOODEN BOX WITH A HINGED LID AND A HOLE ON EACH END.

INSIDE A GLUE BOARD STAPLED TO THE TOP, SIDES AND BOTTOM

Never tried trapping them, per se. I know a minnow trap works well on water snakes. I'd probably use that. Just have to figure out a bait. Maybe a live mouse.

Yes Lt Grey you can set those boxes up two or three feet off the ground and lay a stick or even a piece of plastic pipe up to the hole and they love climbing it. Just like they climb trees to get to birds nest. I catch those king snakes and take them to buddies house 10 mile away where the copperheads roam. He got a picture of one with just the end of the copper heads tail sticking out of its mouth.
Those snakes also love to coil up on top of a rabbits nest and eat every one. They also eat quail eggs. The other night I had a 4ft long one that was climbing the wall in the chicken house and when I was trying to be gentle with him, he pucked a stream of egg yellows at me.

As far as mice is concerned thats why I buy rat poison at Rural King. Plus I have barn owl houses.

Timber rattlers are not to common in KS. This one was out where not much chance of it biting anybody. I kicked some dirt at it so it would coil up for the picture but didnt kill it. Was about three feet long even though its rattles were broke off. Was pretty shiney I think it had just shed.

Made exactly to fit a x-large glue board. Open on the ends.

EXACTLY !!!

Dad used to say, "Anybody who thinks a black snake controls rats and mice knows very little about black snakes and NOTHING about rats and mice".

I get so tired of black snakes getting in my shed rafters and crapping on my stuff. Kill 'em. Kill 'em ALL !!!

I bring snakes home and put them in the flower beds next to the house. Especially King Snakes when I come across them. They keep everything away. Finally got my neighbors to call me first before they start killing every snake they see.

If you want to release the snakes from the Glue Boards just spray them where they are adhered with Pam cooking spray. FYI.

Any liquid vegetable oil will dissolve the glue.
