I know there used to be a wild game recipe forum,, but I can’t seem to find it. That being said. Any of you guys got any turtle soup recipes,,,or turtle recipes?? I’d like to try different ways of preparing it than I already have

Andrew Eastwood posts on here time to time. If you can get it out of him best turtle I ever ate was at his place. It was cooked in a smoker. Falling off the bone tender and absolutely delicious.

I pressure cook mine for about 20 minutes. Let it cool to the touch and roll in flour, S&P or any thing you want then fry it like chicken.

Used the recipe from the meateater cook book and my grandpa said it reminded him of when his dad used to make it when he was younger when he’d go out hunting and come back to a bowl of warm soup
This was the snapper used to make it
i make a chowder, heavy cream , potatoes 5 pounds , carrots 2 pounds baby sweet , one large onion, [sweet], bacon 2 pounds , cut bacon and onion into small pieces and brown in pan now put turtle meat [cut into small pieces ] into the same pan and brown , put bacon and turtle in large pot cut carrots and potatoes , up small pieces , put 1 stick of butter and heavy cream cover with water let simmer 3-4 hours season to taste i use garlic, pepper,

We ate a lot of turtles growing up. My mom would soak in salt water and par boil for 15/20 minutes. Then coat with flour/cornmeal and brown the meat 2-3 minutes/side. Put in a baking disk and cook covered in the oven. Last 15 minutes take off cover. Always delicious. She never made soup with turtle.

Yep, making soup is wasting good meat. Make soup from chicken!
