6.7 powerstroke mileage - 04/08/22 06:43 PM

Had this truck a couple years only 60,000 miles. Just took a trip to Michigan from Ohio and only got 10-11 miles to a gallon running 70-80mph the whole way pretty much. Around home I don’t do much highway so it’s usually 12-13mpg. Stock truck. Wheels and tires are the only thing on it. Shouldn’t I be getting better mileage than that?

Bigger and wider wheels and tires will do that to your wallet.

Mine is 2014 in a 3/4-ton, stock truck. First trip after I bought it (used 40k miles) went to Pa. and back to Ks. it ran around 18mpg, I've never got that since, but haven't made a long trip without a trailer either. Everyday driving around 16 mph with 36' 5th wheel camper I get 10 -12 mpg depending on how I drive. 160k on it know.

I got an old 12 valve cummins you tune with a flat blade screw driver. Drive it every day to work. 20 mpg around town, 15-16 towing heavy. They really don't make them like they used to Lol
