They usually adjust the shipping charges to what they really are or a lot closer to the actual charge. I have seen that on my online orders.

When you order, in the notes ask them to ship SpeeDee delivery and it will be around 25 bucks. It is always about 1/4 the shipping.

I ordered a coon replacement head a while back, and shipping was like $30 on it. That was frustrating

You have to ask for shipping costs before you complete the payment transaction. I cancelled 2 orders in the last 2 weeks over outrageous shipping rates.

I always make sure the shipping is shown before paying.

Re: Trouble with mekenzie - 03/26/22 06:45 PM

A lot of businesses charge more for the items they are selling and absorb most of the shipping costs. People accept the same exact total price better, if they're paying more for the item and less for the shipping. People who are closer to the business, where the shipping is not as expensive, end up subsidizing the shipping for people who live further away.

They said that the shipping wouldn't be like 45 so I went a head and order it from them then they charge me that 95$ so I just called them and said it was because they had to use a over sized box,

can't ship back I already used most of the stuff, so I guess I will have to live with it mad

McKenzie used a large box for my last chemicals order. Wasn’t as bad as your shipping, but would’ve been less for a more appropriately sized box.

Re: Trouble with mekenzie - 03/26/22 09:35 PM

I’ve used McKenzie for over 20 years and they have always been bad about overcharging for shipping. But its gotten out of hand the last few years. They pull this on nearly every order they get. Part of their business plan is making profit on shipping. It has nothing to do with actual shipping costs, they’ve done this for years. I finally had to stop ordering from them. The worst part is they won’t tell you what you’ll pay for shipping when you place the order, you find out after you get the invoice. And thats not by accident. If I was to order two whitetail mannikins, they would charge almost as much to ship as the mannikins costs. It sucks because they bought most other suppliers and they have a huge selection. But I’m done with them until they start acting like an honest business.

I just bought a bunch of paint about 3 weeks ago and I didn't think it was too bad, but it wasn't huge boxes either.

Re: Trouble with mekenzie - 03/26/22 09:56 PM

If you think shipping costs are crazy now, wait until April 3rd - the postnoffice is implementing several surcharges based on size and shape. Reading the new rules gives me a head ache.

When shipping UPS, one thing to keep in mind is there is a surcharge - about $25.00 -for packages that weight more than 50 pounds. That is in addition to dimensional weight surcharges. That’s a chunk of change. Almost better to consider shipping in 2 packages.

My shipping has not been too bad, I use SpeeDee. But now they are adding a surr charge to orders. I told them I thought it was nothing but a scam . I do allot of business with them.

How do you use speedee I don't see it on there, and arnt they the ones that charge for the shipping so how dose that make a difference?

Re: Trouble with mekenzie - 03/26/22 11:39 PM

You have to call in the order and ask them to use Speedee. It will make it cheaper but you’ll still overpay because you’re not paying actual shipping. You’re paying shipping plus whatever extra they feel like adding.

Hasn't happened to me. They just charged the actual shipping fee. Once you use speedee they will ask witch shipper you would prefer. Speedee , I useualy get order wiin 48 hours if ordered in the morning. The surr charge is said to be a temporary thing.

Cost about $60 shipping for just one gallon of tanning oil from them a few months ago.

I won’t use a vendor if they won’t tell me the shipping cost upfront when I make my order.
