Probably feed holes. The beaver has these dead end holes where It rests carries feed and eats. They use these holes Instead of going all the way back to the main den. If they are feed holes there should be peeled sticks laying around by those holes.
Trout will hang out in undercut banks and bank holes to ambush dinner. When the water rises again drift a worm past those during trout season and you can get dinner

Thought I was done Saturday then one of my farmers called. Looks similar to yours but they’ve apparently been there for years by the looks of it. How they never noticed before amazes me . Pulled 2 yesterday, won’t get there til late today.
Some down here actually like beavers. Talked to a couple boys about a spot and they said without that beaver we wouldn’t have a duck hole, lol. Talked to some county workers that mentioned a couple roads that kept getting washed out until the beavers showed up. They go in once a month or when expecting a lot of rain and remove a small section on a 100yd dam to let the water down and then let the beavers dam it back.
Beaver leave a lot of sign. Much of what people see is old sign. I don’t waste my time unless it’s fresh sign. Walking a creek there are numerous locations for a beaver to get under, rest and eat. If you only trap those with fresh sign your catch percentage will be highest. I realize it’s not rocket science but few things in trapping are.
