Don Shumaker has passed

I just received a call from his wife informing me that Don had passed this morning. Rest in peace my friend.

Condolences to Mr. Shumaker's family and friends. His writings were educational and inspirational to a teenage boy in the late 70's and early 80'.

RIP brother. I met Don when he traveled with Milligan and Marsyada doing their seminars. We hit it off right away. I still have the predator call he gave me. He was the real deal for sure, I miss him already.

A Skinny guy from back east who looked at the land around Sutton Nebraska and scratched his head wondering what he had gotten himself into. Perhaps Terry Scheideman could give us a story about Don. ....................the mike

That was probably first time id heard of him, when he was editor of the Trapper. Would always turn the page's to his article to read first.

I am just now finding out about this .Don had a wealth of knowledge ,experience and hands on work on all things involving trapping .He was a good writer and teacher His life time body of work to promote and defend trapping speak for his dedication to keeping the trapping heritage alive .I also learned of him during his days as editor of the Trapper and Predator Caller
