He got a lot of free stuff the first time around. Even the folks he's advertising for now.

Ironic his signature at the bottom of his posts as Ethan1234 was "you reap what you sow"

He didn't get free stuff from John Chagnon again,because i Hadn't given him the info yet. But ol ethan sure sent me a lot of PMs to see if I had gotten it sent to him.

I’m disappointed to say the least. Mr. Chagnon is so generous and helpful, especially when it comes to getting kids involved in trapping. It’s terrible to see someone try to cheat him like that. Good riddance!

What's weird though is he WAS in the user list about 1/2 hour ago as Ethan because I just looked him up. He must have already seen this post and knows he's toast.

I believe Cathryn and her husband drove to his place to actually help him out and give him instructions. Think they gave him equipment also. Not the first time he'd been caught not being honest on here. People gave him good advice about honesty and gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was a kid. He was regularly angling for free stuff.

He sure was enthusiastic and hopefully a lesson will be learned from this experience.

Several times. I think he got a lot of free stuff from the generosity of the trapperman family. I didn't like the idea of u guys sending him more thinking u were helping a different kid out.

I gave Ethan some plants by mail back in May. I think he really is a kid. I got the impression he doesn't have much going well for him in life. He could very likely benefit from someone in his area, Glenwhite, WV, mentoring him. He does comes off as very immature. Hopefully he will grow up soon and get his life together.

Sent him some instruction books, and I'm glad I did...Ethan has some issues, but he's young with time to improve.

I remember several young trappers with problems that made good men, so no judgment from me, and I wish him the very best for his future.

Worst thing about it is some that got took will back off from donating stuff to legitimate kids wanting to get started.

What he meant to do was get more free stuff. John Chagnon is very gracious in giving lure and other things to new members on the Kids forum. The stipulation is--they are new members. Ethan came on under a different name claiming to be a new member. THAT OF COURSE-was not the case. He was very insistant that I get his mailing info to Mr. Chagnon,so that he had more free stuff coming his way. I try to get new kids members to do some posting before I forward their mailing info. In that time,it was brought to my attention that Krazytrapr was indeed Ethan 1234. He was caught trying to take advantage of the system and had to suffer the consequences. He knew exactly what he was doing.

I did. I don’t agree with what he’s doing,
We shud forgive him, maybe he has had a rough life and never had very much. Some kids do things out of desperation.He wants to be a trapper not a drug dealer.
We have a chance to help get him straightened out.
Again I don’t approve of what he’s doing, but with some guidance, he’s young enough to straighten up.

Bogmaster, did he originally get the free lure or was he already a member when the giveaway was announced? Either way he was in the wrong, but I’m just curious if he was trying to beat the system or double dip?

Robert, I can't remember when he originally joined. And I can't go back and look. Doesn't matter either way.

He had been called out for being dishonest 2 times in the past. People gave him good advice about why honesty was the best approach. That was quite awhile ago. He had enough chances in my opinion. He obviously has a real problem with honesty.

Just getting caught is a good lesson for the kid we have no clue what his situation really is no need to call out the dogs. LOL

There are other ways to deal with it .
