Wanted opinions on worth of Toyota truck - 02/16/21 01:02 AM

2006 Tundra. 4X4 crew cab, 4.7 liter motor with 210,000. Super clean, inside and out and very well maintained. Is it worth $10,000 ??? It just had the timing belt, serpentine belt, tune up, oil change, new brakes and new tires by the owner 6 months ago before trade in.

I had a friend just buy an ‘05 with 203,000 miles, everything else matches the description you posted and he payed $4,800. $10k seems steep to me.

^ I agree, it's the last year of the old body style also. In my opinion over priced.

9k is better but that's a lot for any truck with over 200K IMO.

Have one just like it. Has 225000 miles. I bought it with 140000 miles and paid 14000.They are for sure gas hogs, pulling trailer 10 maybe 11.out and about no trailer anywhere from 13,14 .. Have to adjust volume on steering wheel which is common on a lot of them.Toyota have good resale value.Personally I like Toyotas they are dependable but anything you fix on them is expensive. What about the exhaust ? Had mine done a couple years ago ,that isnt cheap.Im thinking of going to a Tacoma, if you compare they are about the same size. IMO the 06 Tundra really isnt a full size pickup but drinks like one.

used cars are going for more just due manufacturers cant get new ones as fast due to short supply lines from factory shut downs. Same for every manufacturing company.

Dirt cheap compared to what you find around here. Anything remotely close to that is a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission.

It's a Toyota so that should ease the mind

Drive it for a year or two and get most of your money back

Catch , I have that same vehicle . It has 256000 miles on it . Up until about a year ago it was running great . Now it is BEGGING me to put it out of its misery . It has been used pretty hard but fairly well maintained . It is one of the trucks with the recall for badly rusted frames . The catalytic converters have cracked (there are two) and they are very expensive (about 12-1400 apiece ). The secondary air intake is now shot , also expensive to fix even with the bypass kit . I suspect it has a blown head gasket and possibly a cracked cylinder head . They do not make the cylinder heads anymore . Replacements will have to come from a junk yard . The best highway mileage I ever got was 14mpg . The torque converter is now shot . There was a notice about transmission issues (mine was swapped out) . There was also a recall on the airbags . IMO 10,000 is WAY over priced

I'm assuming that was a 2x4?? If not your friend should have a guilty conscience about his steal.

That was 4WD that he bought, very clean, nice pick up for over 200,000 miles. I personally didn’t think he stole it but got a fair price on it. After reading through this thread maybe he did steal it! Asking price was $5k on the one he bought, so I’m sure the previous owner was happy selling for $4,800.

Just my opinion but I think all Toyotas are way overpriced!!! Might be the best truck ever for all I know but I will never buy one.

A 19 year old girl recently "totaled" my '99 Tacoma. While haggling with my insurance company, about the cheapest replacement we could find on the west coast that was comparable (even with high mileage) was about $6500.

They ended up giving me $3000 and I took it to a Russian body shop and they fixed it (new parts, not Bondo) for $1200.

Truck prices really seem to vary by region. Generally west coast trucks don't have rust issues though.
