Longest barrel in a .22 cal pistol - 02/15/20 03:57 PM

Who makes the longest barrel in a 22 caliber pistol/revolver? I can't seem to come up with much when I search it.

WOW! I didn't realize they made that length. Interesting, anyone have one or any personal review on it?

I believe federal law is 16" or less for a pistol. I'd like to see the actual measurement on that barrel length vs advertised. Smart manufacturing might be 15-15/16". Marketing might say 16". BATF is not the organization to get on the wrong side of.

My dad has Buntline Special, 12” barrel I think. When I was a kid he hid it in a closet with a couple playboys and a bottle of whiskey...true story.

If you buy one and if you couldn't hit what your aiming at with a bullet you could always hit it with the end of the barrel ha ha

I have a ruger single-six with a 9 1/2 in. barrel older model I think H&R made a long barrel model Browning marketed a 10 in. sillouette model when their Buckmark debuted TC Contenders have 10, 12, and 14 in. still available as stated 16 inch is the ATF benchmark with guns marketed as "pistols" cut to 15 15/16s and rifles 16 1/4 for regulations but still called 16 in. barrel side note is over 16 the firearm must be 26 in. overall IMHO

What would be the point of such a long barrel on a .22 revolver? My first thought was accuracy/target shooting, but then I saw it was a Heritage, so surely that can't be it's intended purpose.

It's a safety feature with the heritage, allows you to get within the effective accuracy range of there guns without getting bitten . LOL

A friend of mine has a Heritage Arms revolver in a .17 hmr he claims it's a serious shooter and more accurate than one would think . I'm spoiled with my old Colt Woodsman .22 which I'm seriously considering retiring it ?

^ I got a Heritage RR two cylinders and have had no problems after many years of dragging that thing around the country. One like you have I would retire from full use and get something less valuable.

I saw one of the Heritage 16" barrel revolvers on a table at a gun show a couple of weeks back. It looked worthless to me.

If nothing else it would make a good wall hanger and conversation piece. It has to look ridiculous in person.

Re: Longest barrel in a .22 cal pistol - 02/16/20 04:09 AM

There is no maximum barrel length requirement on a pistol. You just cant cut a rifle down to less than 16 inches.Heritage rifle Check this out

I kinda like the looks of that heritage. I always wanted a long barreled .357 or .44 mag. like Shelby. smile
