150*f is a safe working temp
step 1: you need DRY sifted dirt or sand, even if you have to dry the dirt in the roaster first, you cant have any moisture in the dirt.
step 2; mix 1 pound of wax to 2 gallons of dirt( I make 10 gallon batches, so 5 lbs of wax to 10 gallons of dirt)
step 3: add dirt wax mixture into the roaster, do not fill it all the way to the top. when you see the dirt getting wet around the edges, start stirring till all the wax is melted.
step 4: pour the waxed dirt out on a table or tarp and spread it out about an inch thick to let it cool( stirring is helpful at this point, and break up any clods)
the waxed dirt has to be cool before putting in containers, or it will become one big piece
repeat till you are out of wax or dirt<smile>

note: do not use soy wax, use flaked Paraffin wax

There is a great video on you tube done by a F&T employee in making waxed dirt. I use 2.5 lbs wax to 5 !be dirt which is consistent with what has been suggested in this post
