It's like a plague level event here in TN, never seen them as bad as this year. I left my garage door open all day a couple weeks ago and had to bug bomb it - had about 50 of them on the floor when done.

Hang a couple of glue boards around a night light all night long as they are attracted to light. This will help a lot in a home or structure that has an infestation.

Helped a buddy install a back-up, auto start generator last year. Ran fine until this last winter. He had manually started it a couple times and had no problems. When he lost power last winter, the generator started, but he had no power to the house. We pulled the transfer switch apart and found twenty or more of those blasted bugs in the switch. All were dead, dried out, and stuck between the contacts. Power was not conducting thru the dried carcasses. Cleaned them out and it worked fine. Figured that when he started the generator for a test, the juicy bugs did conduct power, but when they dried out, not so much. Blasted things are all over the place here.

Wife despises them. Sprayed outside of house and around windows inside with .5% permithron. Doesn't kill instant but they will die.

If you Google them there's a couple different species. One very envacieve and damages allot of crops. That one is smarter. I saw one on my porch waiting for apartunity to get in. It saw me and quickly ran off the porch jumped down and disappeared.

Since I started letting the hens run free in the field I don't have many. They make a trap, like a yellowjacket trap, that is supposed to work well.

Really bad here the last couple years. Used permethrin this year and that made a big difference.

I'm still finding dead ones from last year. They get into boxes and totes and then die in the winter I guess. I hate them, never seen them so bad till last year. When the crops come down it's even worse.

Stink bugs were introduced into the United States in 1998 when they hitched a ride in packing crates from China to a company based in Allentown Pennsylvania about 20 miles north east of me. Reading these posts I’m amazed at how far they have spread.

I don’t know if you guys have heard of the spotted lantern fly, they were introduced six or seven years ago when a quarry a few miles south of me imported stones from China. They have now spread up and down the East Coast.

I guess I’m just that unlucky to have been so close to the epicenter of these two invasive introductions.

I don't think we have the spotted lanternfly officially yet in my neck of the woods.

They don't seem as bad here as a few years ago, the chickens help, and I spray permethrin around the soffits and corners of the vinyl siding. I have a screened porch that attracts whats left, I hunt them down a few times a day with a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap, a quick spray and a minute later there dead...
Got my local stinkers knocked back pretty good.
