Building an A R

Building an A R - 10/01/19 02:18 AM

All my A R s are 1/9 twist and all my reloads are loaded for that and shoot good. I’m building another one and was thinking about getting the 1/8 twist. I’m shooting 55 gr in .223’s. Do you think there will be a big difference in accuracy in my reloads with just 1 twist difference.

They will work fine, with your new rifle you would be able to shoot a heavier bullet than the 1/9 twist will if you ever wanted to.

It depends. It certainly is not going to be the twist rate that will upset the apple cart. Seldom do 2 barrels shoot the same load equally good. Thats why we match the loads to the rifle. But you may get lucky

What he said.

You may have to do a little load development.
