Honest shooting suppliers? - 08/24/19 10:36 AM
A few years back I posted about my good experiences buying shooting and reloading supplies from Midway USA. I said they were great to deal with.
Since then my opinion has changed. Last summer I ordered three boxes of Nosler 28 brass, which was then listed at the sale price that was ten bucks per box cheaper than regular price. The product was out of stock, but Midway said that back orders were welcome. So I back-ordered, and waited most of the summer--during which time Miway's online catalog continued to show the sale price. The brass finally showed up last September--they had shipped it at the regular price. When I inquired, Midway's rep told me the sale had ended. So in other words they advertise a product for three months, without having that product; then when the product finally arrives, it's "Whoops! Too late. the sale is over."
What a crappy way to do business. I told them as much, in a civil email, but never got a reply. They clipped me for thirty bucks, and rather cleverly too, but it cost them a good customer because of it.
So I tried Gunstop Reloading, and they want to gouge me on shipping and a $5 "handling fee" their terms say apply to orders under $25. My order was $200.
I wrote and complained, but what do you bet they won't satisfy me at all?
My experience with gun shops and shooting supplies is in direct contrast with my experience with trapping supply companies, which will bend over backward to make the customer happy.
Anyone know of good sources for shooting supplies?
