Favorite small college football team

Beside the division 1 football bowl subdivision teams, do you have any favorite teams in division 1 football championship subdivision, division 2 or division 3? Mine is is Idaho State University in which I have season tickets.

My mom and dad both graduated from Montana State and I've been a fan all my life. Go Bobcats!

Always a rivalry with University of Montana in Missoula. Back in the day if you were from Bozeman you called Missoula the "Dance School" and they called MSU the "Cow College".


My college was Division 3 and it rained ALOT in fall and winter , but we had some great games in the Mud Bowl as it was called.

Our son played football in Iowa at Upper Iowa University. D2 school.

Live 30 mins from Appalachian State and they have a great program. Just ask michigan

Mankato State MN seems to hold there own in the DII arena right now. Like the DIII though also.

Mankato is an awesome team, Upper Iowa played them. When my son played Adam Thielen was on the team. (MN Vikings).

Idaho State and NDSU. I also like Appalachian State.

U of Maine Black Bears...…..where I nearly went ,,,to play hockey for them, too.

I played against their JV when I was at iowa central community college, not a bad school then don’t know much about them anymore. I would say my favorite for a smaller 4 year school would be grand view, some of that comes from the president begin married to my relation.

Yep, you are not the first to make that mistake, so not a big deal, we played them and B.V. Also. I went on to ISU but never played football there.

They are playing Penn State in their home opener. I wish I could get that game on tv. I’m a Penn State grad but I hope it isn’t too much of a blowout since I like all Idaho teams.

D3 University of Wisconsin Whitewater

Yea marathon and they almost beat Tennessee a few years ago in the season opener. If I was one of these big premiere programs I would not schedule them for a nonconfrence game.

with their recent success, its been a fun few years. get to go to a few games each year too

Northwest Missouri State at Maryville historically very solid in there division.

We have several small universities in WI that have done well at the national level in Foot Ball and basket ball. Whitewater has done well recently as has Oskosh and Stevens Point.

Oh yeah the 'Cocks!! Our son was a Captain on the defensive side of the ball. They had some tough seasons, but a year or 2 after he finished the were over 500 for a few years.

Minnesota Duluth has had an excellent last 10 or so years with a couple of D2 national championships

Their hockey program has been second to none over the last 10 years also winning 3 D1 national championships

Yep The Bulldogs are another great team out of that conference!

I have followed the ND Bison now for some time. The program and records speak for itself. The Griz literally suck but I follow them but haven't gone much.

Northern Michigan Wildcats and Michigan Tech Huskies are our two teams in the UP that we cheer for.
