Had company in the hunting shanty.

Got in before light. Good thing for snow as I forgot the flashlight. Now I'm sitting there enjoying nature. About an hour after light I see a doe and watch her til she leaves. I catch a glimpse of something move in the cabin. Thinking it's a mouse I keep looking. I see a paw. After computing in my head that it's a coon paw, I almost soil myself. I opened the door and grabbed the broom. For the next half hour, I try to get it out the door. Who knows if any deer came by. He wouldn't budge. So since he wouldn't leave, I did. I tried sitting there looking for deer, but I just wasn't comfortable.

This is what happens when trappers no longer talk about dispatch, you get "trappers" who don't know how to dispatch coons. Coons are not hard to kill.

I had the trusty .243 but that is too much firepower for a coon, especially in closed quarters. I also was carrying a trusty knife but thought that could get messy real quick. So I was trying to be nice and let him walk away.
