Stay in the touristy sections.
Don't rent a car.
Cancun has become a hot bed of drug/human trafficking.
Don't let anyone touch your bags.

Don't wander off the main drags and don't let the family out of your sight.Lots of bad things happening even in the tourist spots that used to be reasonably safe.Getting real bad.

We went to Nogales from Tucson 15 yrs ago and 2 yrs ago on a cruise spent 1 day in Cozumel.

WILL NEVER RETURN !

Last winter we did Mexico. Hotel Xcaret five star, and did all the parks like xcaret park, xenses (will mess with your head like nothing else), the ruins, and many more. Was a blast. The hotel had just opened. Played around with the baracuda off the beach. i forgot my pack rod, but apparently they frown on catching the fish int he canals and such. The ziplines are 150 feet high. Got the blood flowing.

Poking the bear in it's own den might not be the best idea, would not be the first Gringo to disappear on a trip to old Mexico.

The wife got pretty claustrophobic with the underground cave swim. the caves went for miles. Pretty cool.

Awesome have fun. I've never been there but hear it's a blast. Since you have it use it up. Passports also count as 2 id's.

Yup I remember those days. We used to go into Juarez often to fill rx's and get other things while there. I used to go into Juarez with classmates to do mission trips.

I went to Tijuana a few times.LOL

You haven't lived until you been to Tijuana...
My sister's husband was a Navy career man and we went there when he was stationed in San Diego - about 53 years ago!! LOL

watch your drinks at the bars. spiked drinks in cancun is pretty common these days.

Going back to Riviera Mia all-inclusive for a week in January to see Dead and co.

Been to Tijuana once but I was a teen so I couldn't have the adult experience. It was a hoot when the boarder patrol officer didn't want to let my dad back in the US
