What Outdoor Celebrety to promote a product - 09/25/18 03:23 PM

If you had a product that you wanted to promote which outdoor hunting celebrity would you use? I would more so be looking for a Midwest or Western name that would be a trusted person. Thanks

Cameron Hanes. Yep, kind of a man crush

Re: What Outdoor Celebrety to promote a product - 09/25/18 05:02 PM

With his podcasts, and the fact that he hangs out and is friends with some high profile guys like Joe Rogan, and is into marathons and running and stuff, he would be the guy to market something. He would just reach such a wider market and type of people.

Miranda x2.
He has been a staunch advocate for hunters and trappers (most importantly)

or Jim Shockey

Snowy, that would depend on the product you're wanting to market.

Hutch, I like Cameron, I'll be surprised if he continues his cozy relationship with Rogan, an out and out doper. He was just on a video, interviewing Elon Musk and both were toking it up, passing a joint back and forth. I really doubt Cameron is digging this given his dedication to his body/working out/eating right.

Re: What Outdoor Celebrety to promote a product - 09/25/18 05:52 PM

True, but a guy with as much pull as Rogan would be a hard guy to undriend. Especially with Rogans recent obsession with bowhunting. Bowhunting is now cool because he says it is. Kill things and eat them, no excuses.

I think in this case, its a good idea for Hanes to say "I dont do that, but dont judge you if you do". Would be better for hunting in general IMO.

Besides, hes not popping pills, or shooting heroin, although it does fly in the face of the fitness thing Hanes has going on. Maybe they will just do more hunts in Colorado and call it a win win. grin

Like what Bristleback said it depends on what kind of product and what kind of group are you targeting. Personally I'm a fan of Randy Newberg. He seems like a very humble kind of guy.

First off, I don't trust in any celebrity being the least bit honest in any endorsement, they as a class usually do/say whatever it takes to get the money. It's the oldest profession.

Then of course you'd want a famous bow-hunter to promote fishing rods or a bass master to hawk the guns- that way you get the name recognition with not so much expectation that knowledge is involved.

Skiing is is an out door activity and a well known skier could sell anything from basket ball shoes to bass boats to binoculars, and if the product is not well received by the public or found defective the skier just grins and says "well it worked the one time I used it." No harm to his/her reputation as a skier.

Keep your reply's coming and tell me why you would have that person promote it. Thanks

I don't know him personally. But I think he is / was involved in a program to help outdoorsman/inventors bring hunting/outdoor products to market .

Might be worth some research

If I was marketing something in the Bowhunting/Archery world I'd probably go with the Drury brothers. big advocates of bowhunting , promote family first , and do a lot for the catch a dream foundation.

Put the product on Tiffany Lakosys' shirt. No need for dialogue. Everyone will see it.

Re: What Outdoor Celebrety to promote a product - 09/26/18 10:57 PM

^ well part of marketing is getting a lot of opinions/ideas. At this time not sure what we are going to do. It might be a joint venture if an outdoor enthusiast wants in for a share of the product an work details out from there. I was hoping for product introduction this fall but my wait till next year spring.

I know a young man that is very business minded and one's like him don't come along often. It takes a go getter and need a lot of energy for the dog eat dog business world anymore. We are still debating which road to take.

Thanks Bucks. I do not know him I will be seeing a good friend from MN this fall yet and will run it by him.
