He called this morning and said he was in hospital at Lufkin,Tx with 104 fever and extreme headache. He asked me to to request prayers for him from his TMan family

ok, Make sure they are checking for that spotted fever from ticks.. you guys have that down there I believe.

The CDC is reporting an increase in West Nile virus this year- https://www.cdc.gov/westnile/statsmaps/preliminarymapsdata2018/disease-cases-state-2018.html. The smallest critters seem to be the most dangerous.

Meningitis? Fever, headache, my friend in wy got fungal meningitis few years back from contaminated back shots, months before it came out on the news.
Such a bad headache he told his wife he had to go to hospital, Dr said a few more minutes and he might not have survived, they weren't sure what he had so gave him 4 massive drugs, ruined his immune system sorta

....he’s out and alright ....said he’s heading home to get some rest

I am home now and greatly appreciate all of the prayers from my TMan family.

Kind of a break down on what was going on. Back on the 14th I had Caudel Steroid Injection to deal with damaged nerves from L1-S1, they insert a needle into the caudel hiatus down on the sacrum and push a lot of Marcaine and a mixture of steroids into the spinal column. The 17th I started running a low grade fever in the morning and it would elevate in the evening but not above 100.5 along with a headache. Around the 20th the temp. in the mornings was starting out around 100 and elevating to 101.5 and the headaches were much worse. By Tuesday night and into Wednesday The headache never went away and the fever just increased until it hit 103. I had bed keeping a record of the temps and what time by texting them to the neurosurgeon friend who would forward them to my internal medicine Doc. I don't remember much about Wednesday other than I know I went to work and had to leave three hours into the shift but I don't remember driving to work or driving home. Thursday the temp hit 104 and I couldn't even open my eyes, I contacted the Doc via text and he said get your butt up here to the ER. Had the wife drive me up and as soon as I got there they went into meningitis mode. I remember the spinal tap and the huge morphine and Zofran dose but that's it. As soon as the lady ER Doc got the spinal fluid I was on Two big gun Abx in two different IV's. I never have had such a headache before and never want to experience that again. They have ruled out all types of meningitis but my internal med. Doc sent off enough blood to test for 160 different things including any identified crap that came over with that Sahara Sand. He said most likely whatever I had was killed by the first 4 bags of Vancomyacin and another of its myocin kindred and that's why such a fast turn around from how I was Wednesday and Thursday.

I am still on oral Abx and will be for a while. all of the test he ordered will take about 2-3 weeks to get results back so he will be monitoring that and will let me know the outcome. We have no idea what it was at this point but I am doing much better and my head isn't hurting, still running a very low grade fever but managing it with Tylenol.

I just wanted to give you folks some info.
