Sometimes I think it's a regional thing...In this part of the country most people say Kye-Oatey.

I hear the pronunciation "Kye-Oat" from western trappers mostly.

Wish they had left the e off the end of that word. Only ones out west that say ky-ot-ee is the mexicans. I blame them for starting that bad habit!

When the kids are with me Coy-yote-tae or ry-row-tee around other adults yote or ky-ote.

Ky-O-tee is how my sons see ‘n say pronounces it.

Isnt "coyote" the spanish word we use for the Indian pronunciation of "KI-oat"?
Or it should be lol. KI-oat is the way i say it, emphasis on the KI

If someone out East pronounces it Ky oat, and is not a trapper or a hunter, he is synonymous with a city slicker wearing a cowboy hat (all hat, no cows), and likely gay or has something else wrong with him.
Its about 50-50 out here as to how it is pronounced.
Real trappers say it ky oats.
