It's beginning people. They are taking the rights of these kids away by treating them with no education.
How far are they going to take this. Next will be your employer comes up with the same policy.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 01:18 AM

We should really consider pulling our kids out of the school to boycott till government wakes up to what they are doing.

No kids, no money, schools fall

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 01:44 AM

So the way I read that, my kids posing with their deer or what ever critter holding a rifle in a pic would get them suspended. Wow, I can't put into words what kind of stupid I think these people are.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 01:46 AM

Maybe we should all spread this to our circle of friends, and call the school district for the next couple weeks expressing our concerns with their policy that removes these students 2nd. Amendment rights.( just in case you would like to call # : (609) 971-2000 )

the school now is your kids parents...they will say what your child is allowed to do 24/7/365.

embrace it...

smile

I bet not one other parent helps these kids parents with this by protesting the obscenity of it all....we are becoming a nation of punks.

Its very sad to see.

Nj is done for....I would not set foot in that state no less live there. People who choose to live there are getting what they deserve.

It sucked 25 years ago.....

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 03:11 AM

That is absolutely absurd. Those parents need to get an attorney and sue that school. The second amendment is a fundamental right!

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 03:12 AM

Lacey Township School District follows the Safe Schools Initiative and the Zero Tolerance for Guns Act. Their own policy enforces zero-tolerance policy for any students who have weapons in their possession, on or off school grounds, according to Patch.com.

As I read the Conservation Laws in NJ, They can hunt at 10 Years of age. So, the Students would not be allowed to hunt while they are Students? What business is it of a School system what the Students do when they are not in School ? If they decide to go Pheasant Hunting with their Parent or Parents, what business is it of the School system ?

NJ may suck.... smile

Heck, that whole area around them may also suck.

Yes, these people are crazy and there are a lot of them.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 05:05 AM

Here's the statute: https://safesupportivelearning.ed.gov/di...e&sort=desc

I read through it. It only applies to illegal guns that a kid might bring to school, nothing about what a kid does off-campus on his own time. I think the school's going to lose this argument.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 05:14 AM

Society, Government or what not is molding the younger generation day by day......Middle aged and older genations are going on deaf ears, our beliefs mean very little to the up and coming future of this country....I see it all the time...why would they bother with our beliefs as they know it’s hard to turn us in their direction, much easier to go after the younger generation. Just go to a college and you’ll see what I mean...I have a daughter in college, plus one that graduated from college, it’s crazy how these generations think compared to myself...Both my daughters turned liberal in college....crazy....

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 09:08 AM

Pretty sad. That has happened because the people who live there thinks its a good idea. Every day people who live in large areas of urban sprawl and people who do not, move further apart. I believe the more helpless people become the more afraid of not being helpless they become.

How far would you have to look in the northern half of the garden state to find someone who knows it is possible to grow and can green beans at home? What about S.W. CA? These people expect, and believe its possible, for somebody else to provide better protection and care than they can provide for themselves.

Does any of the administration drink or smoke, had an affair, or divorce?.....suspend or fire them for being immoral, setting bad example. This has gotten way out of hand.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 11:47 AM

Was listening to public radio yesterday while finishing up spar varnishing new tent poles outside and this came on:

https://www.wpr.org/different-sport-wisconsin-state-high-school-clay-target-league

Good feeling to know we've got enough volunteers in this state and at each school to make this sort of thing happen.

With the infusion of trapper education into the Ag program for those teachers willing to take it on I strongly feel Wisconsin is heading in the right direction.

As far as New Jersey is concerned, I don't know where one would start to reverse the stupidity. It appears to be insurmountable.

Just saw on Yahoo news some kid was seen at the range with his Dad shooting a "Godless AR-15" and the Chief of Police hauled the kid in for questioning!!!!!

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 07:45 PM

Unreal! Our sportsmen's club, through our charitable gaming financially supports 3 local high school trapping shooting teams. What a difference from the east coast to the Midwest! Feel sorry for the kids leaving on the east coast.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 08:29 PM

Remember - this happened in New Jersey. The entire state (except for Newt and a few others) is crazy.

Note - it is against the law to possess foothold traps. Not just using footholds BUT possessing them. If you have Grandpa's bear trap in your man cave, the state can seize and destroy it!!!

Just plain crazy.

Glad I am not a kid going through school today. I wouldn't make it. Too many bu++sh$t rules and regulations and zero tolerances.
I think I said this on another post recently.

I honestly feel we need to make a stand and boycott schools. No students, no money

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 08:45 PM

Many years ago a young boy was suspended from one of our local grade schools for bringing a spent shotgun shell in his bookbag. He and his father were taking a walk and he found it, put it in his bookbag and forgot it . The suspension was upheld by the school board.

Really?

You must've graduated from high school after 1970.

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/27/18 11:40 PM

Well over 300 schools in MN have high school trap shooting teams, over 12,000 participants.

That would make for a lot of suspensions

Re: Students Suspended For Visiting Shooting Range.... - 04/28/18 02:58 AM

This is the kind of crap our mostly liberal teachers are teaching the kids these days. When these kids grow up and take leadership positions, either locally, or nationally, the laws of this country will be changing. Hunting and trapping is going down the tubes, because fewer people are doing it. The constitution means less and less to people these days too, and will mean even less in the future.
