My cousin just texted me saying he saw a robin doing the same thing.

This storm is unbelievable.

About 16" of snow here and It's still snowing. The robins, buntings, red wing black birds, cardinals, finches and another bird have been eating the berries from a tree in my yard. Took 4 hours to clear the snow. My wife put out seeds and corn for the birds.

Not sure if the ice will be out by opening walleye. If it is it will be very close to opener May12th

I've never seen so many birds at the neigbors feeder. With all the blowing snow, I've lost track of how much we got! Can't be good for deer and turkeys either, I wouldn't think. I don't know about grouse.

We have had literally a hundred birds at one time at our feeders this weekend. Hopefully the snow stops soon.

Was walking the pup this morning and saw a robin working an anthill over from a ways off. Tough finding worms out there!

Too bad the snow didn't kill them all

Some communities about 50 miles from us received from 24-29 inches of snow with 2-4 inches more possible by noon tomorrow! We are in the rain first, then sleet and ice and then snow. We received about a foot of snow. I don't know how many inches of water this all amounts to but I would guess 2-3 inches for us if not a tad more.
My bird feeders were attacked by a wide diversity of birds the last few days but the grackles, starlings and blackbirds won out. The neighbors cats showed up and there has not been a bird at the feeders for a few hours now.

Poor birds- I always worry about them in storms like this.

Robins love grapes-I have quartered up red grapes and they almost fly to the plate in my hand before I have a chance to put it down for them. They cannot swallow medium size grapes whole- most of the time even the halves, so I quarter them to serve.

I have Robins chowing down on stale doughnuts, no snow, no bugs yet, and worms are too deep from the cold.

That's something I did not know-that they ate suet, or Grapes (Sharon).

I've got morning doves hitting my sunflower feeders since mid-March. Just before the storm hit, my feeders were overrun with birds of all varieties. They must be able to sense what's coming.

All robins do is eat my strawberries, and teach their young to do so.

That's just a Georgia partridge . smile

Seen on the news today Robins and some other birds here having a tough go with the weather. People finding birds dead or barely able to move, guess they are suffering hypothermia.. Talked with my brother in-law this afternoon he lives in the country. Said he has to watch the dogs real close or just not even let them run. Then been finding catching or picking up dead or slow moving birds. Robins, finches, blue bird..
Weather or lack of finding feed is whacking them.

We got hammered with snow and the birds are in trouble. A friend showed me a photo of coons hunting birds in the middle of the day! Nothing goes to waste in nature.
