Who else would like to see a new John Wayne movie? - 02/27/1807:54 AM
In a few years, maybe you can. Computer imagery already used in today's films is only a step away from doing it. Imagine a new script, spoken in Wayne's voice, by Wayne's image, including his mannerisms.
I know a few commercials may have done this to a lesser extent. I am talking about an entire, original movie.
I suppose the estate will have to license his image for a film to be made. I wonder how far we are from various deceased actors' estates selling the license?
So much for late night musings, when I'm supposed to be working.

I would sure hope not. That would take away an individuals history. In today's world there would be no telling what kind of character some liberal director would have the Duke acting as?!?!?

Do not taint "The Duke's" legacy, of all the actors in Hollyweird The Duke is untouchable! I was talking with a woman, many years ago now, and we were working on setting up a date when she asked a question about my favorite actor, I said John Wayne and she started a tyraid and calling him all kinds of names like misogynist and womanizer etc, I gave her the "what-for" and stopped the conversation dead in its tracks. John Wayne's reputation is irrefutable and to this day is probably one of the single most honest men ever to walk in modern Hollyweird period.

Jeff Bridges is an excellent actor, if not for the top quality actors that remake would have bombed. A lot of the B rated movies would be A movies and blockbusters if they could have gotten the best actors, then again some of the B rated movies are just that because of the poor storyline and/or writing.

I can hear it now.... JW saying well now I'll tell ya Pilgrim, oh boy, I shouldn't have said that, it was offensive and I apologize. Well I'll tell ya livestock management technician, we shouldn't ride off after those indigenous peoples cause it's too dangerous and there are endangered turtle's we need to be careful of. Nope, I think we should find a safeplace, eat some of Mr. Chen Lee's corn dodgers and hope someone else takes care of it.

Both true grits are in two different classes. They're both good, but different. How in same hill could you remake rooster cogburn? Who can hold a candle to Katherine Hepburn in that remake? Been racking my brain for a replacement actress and all i can come up with is Helen Mirren, and thats a long shot.
Side note: i'd like to see a colorized version of Big Jim McLean(cracks me up cuz James Arness is taller than Wayne, lol)

The young lady in the movie really made it for me. She had me cracking up most of the way through it. Kind of hope my daughters have her grit.
