Gonna give it one more try tomorrow. Went out today and found a whole whopping two roots. One was a pretty darn nice one though. Found it all alone, on the top of a bluff outcropping. Wish there would have been more than one, but I'm thankful I didn't get skunked. Been another enjoyable season nonetheless, just ended a little sooner than I would have liked.

What a dandy looking root.Is that an exception for Iowa root. Got some good age also. looks to be in the 40s on age.

Thanks fellas. Iowa has some nice roots, especially along the MS river, but this one is bigger than average. Your right on Don. I counted around 40 bud scars, give or take. When I saw the size of the stalk on the plant I figured it would be a good one before I ever started digging. LOVE those finds!!
