Guess it would work, I like dons idea(old upright freezer) better, enough so that I started doing the same, thanks Don.

Just be carefull and don't let the temperature get to hot in your freezer Stan. I keep watch and try to keep the temp around 90 to 95 if possible. Just make sure your seng don't get brown rings inside when drying. Sometimes I use smaller light bulbs if the temps outside are in the 90s or even upper 80s. I use a 60 to 70 watt bulb in real warm weather and up to a 100 watt in cooler weather. You just have to learn to judge the temp your drier works at best.

i've had great luck at using a food dehydrater for mine.......it's quite gentle on the roots and dries quite evenly and nice.

Will do Don, I nomally dry my sieng inside as i seldom get over 2 lbs/year. I'm using the Don adams drier for the cohosh, me and my grandkids have dug six 5 gallon buketfuls in the past week. Last day out we had foxkidd luck lol ,sat down beside my grandson as he dug a root , out came a wad of yellowjacket nest and a couple billion peed off bees, you knoe the rest of the story.

Yeah, you run like heck. friend of mine did that one day and ran right into a tree. I could tell you lots of ground bee stories.
