I had to change doctors after 38 years with the same practice. Every year a went for a wellness visit (checkup). I take medications so blood work would be done prior to seeing my doctor. We would discuss the results and any other important changes that needed to be addressed. My new doctor does a wellness visit then orders the blood work. I told the new office person I never hear of this and wanted it done first. She said she would talk to the doctor and get back with me. It has been 4 days and no phone reply back. I have had 2 or 3 bad experiences before and thinking of moving on to a different practice. Has anyone else had this or am I just being old fashion and stubborn?
My age is 61 if it matters.

IF your not happy I would certainly look around or ask friends who they go to.
Thats plain stupid to do blood work after a visit. If some thing is elevated,
Cholesterol
Sugar
Prostate Exam
Many other things to check the time to talk is Face to face, at the time of visit.
I can view my results before my Dr's visit,,, by a MY CHART, I really like that has the history of all my test, blood work and makes you look at your self as what questions to ask my Doctor before the visit.

Thanks for the reply Thumb C. My choice of doctors is limited due to many not accepting my insurance. At least there are 2 of us that feel that way.
