Hey guys have a customer that has a cathedral style porch with
Bats roosting there during the night and leaving droppings
Every morning!! She cant take it anymore!! Any suggestions??
I read a couple post's on here to use hot sauce anyone actually have
Success with it?

Dont do the sauce thing KC. Its better to spend some time and either make the roost so slick that they cant hold on, or do a mylar thingey and make it decorative so it wont freek the customer out.

Ya it's a nice place she won't want anything hokey!
There solid wood beams built like trusses in a way, what
Would make them slick besides maybe brown flashing?

I'm just throwing this out there because it worked and my customer was thrilled. I was able to hang a rope light in the vestibule that the bats were hanging from. It kept the bats away and lit up the entryway to the front door. And as an extra bonus, it could be turned on and off by an inside light switch. In a cathedral porch, more than one string may be needed but they connect to each other, aren't very expensive, and don't use much electricity.

Just a thought, in this application, would blasting them with a hose in the morning as they re-roost discourage them, and make them move. Likely somebody's out there with the hose to clean up the guano anyway.

Big bob that would maybe work with consistency but the bats
Are only there after there first feeding Im guessing only for a few hours
Seeing the limited amount of droppings and she has looked a few times
Before bed with flashlight and hasn't seen any!

Larger areas that are deemed bat rest sites such as that described are best netted with 1/2" grid netting in a cosmetic way just like doing a bird exclusion installation.Smaller areas as suggested fitted with aluminum flashing around the hang points will prohibit roost hook ups and cause them to re establish their resting site.
