Chipmunk in a funeral home, I was attending a wake. I got a handshake and a pat on the back. It amazed me that guys that can deal with cadavers all day were afraid of a chipmunk. This was also my first and hopefully only job I will ever do in a suit:)

Catching squirrels in a trailer park. Caught somewhere over 100. No pay. Did it for the learning experience.

Red squirrel caught in a rat trap. ( actually set for the red squirrel ) I think I got $15 for the squirrel and probably $45 for the service call. Even the customer told us we didn't charge enough. I probably lost money but sqs post makes me feel a lot better.

Raccoons in an attic, I set the cage in the attic on top of a wad of phone lines as big as my arm that I didnt see under the insulation. I believe that job cost me about 1K!!!! But thats a lesson I have never forgotten.

it is not a stupid question if you do not know the answer

Beaver at a local town-home community - $50 for beaver, had someone steal beaver and my 330

After that I stake all beaver traps below water and write in a stolen trap price in my bids.

Feral rabbits. I was shopping locally for liability insurance and someone in the office saw the agents note on her desk about my business. Her mother was having trouble with rabbits eating her ornamentals. So I got my first call before I was even open for business, I had to put her off for a few days because I still didn't have invoices, business cards or insurance. That was over 10 years ago and I think I charged her $245 or so for 3-4 weeks of trapping. My rates have come up a bit since then. wink

Oh, I'm sorry. You meant my VERY first job. I'm sorry to report it was a dismal failure. Unicorns are extremely trap shy. Noah was really ticked!

Unicorns are probably as difficult to trap as are black panthers in Alabama!! In fact, the unicorns must not cause much damage here; I've never received a damage complaint about them. I do get a few black panther calls though. crazy

Ron, I had a friend who had a zoo in central Wisconsin and he had one of those big black cats. On-line it said that only melanistic jaguars and leopards could actually be referred to as black panthers. The one he had looked like a black cougar but I suppose they all look fairly similar.

There was snow on the ground and the cat was in it's box. I had my daughter along and my buddy wanted to show her the cat so he gave the box a kick. The first thing the cat saw was my daughter and me. He gave a roar that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Boy, some of the things that you would like to relive with a good video camera in your hands!

Flying Squirrel exclusion, and attic remedation $2200.00 out bid the company that I used to work for by half, and still did well profit wise.
